CHENNAI, INDIA - Meena International is the most recently approved PCN Authorized Qualifying Body and has just completed the training and examination of its first batch of candidates for ultrasonic testing of butt welds in plate and pipe. In total, twelve students attended the training course, and all had hands-on ultrasonic testing experience ranging from two to 12 years.

Based on the progressive assessment carried out during training, eight students were recommended to attempt the PCN examination, and seven of those passed this demanding assessment with the following outcomes: Six candidates were awarded passes in groups 3.1 and 3.2 (plate and pipe), one candidate was awarded a pass on group 3.2 (pipe) only, and one candidate failed the theory and NDT instruction writing examinations. All students expressed full satisfaction with the quality of training and with the available practical facilities.

The British Institute of NDT's certification services are marketed under the PCN Scheme brand name. The PCN Scheme has built up an international reputation and the PCN logo signifies the highest standards in conformity assessment and certification.
